Rising high in the Himalayas, near Shisha Pangma in Tibet, the Sun Kosi is one of the top ten white water rivers in the World. Winding its way through the beautiful Mahabharat Range, this immensely powerful and turbulent river will provide the ultimate challenge to any brave enough to try. So, if you are brave enough to give it a go, this rafting trip will definitely test your nerve and endurance to the limit.
You begin this tour in Kathmandu, where you have plenty of time to explore all this intriguing city has to offer including Hindu Shrines, Buddhist Stupas, Royal Palaces, and much more.
From here it is a short drive east to your put in point on the Sun Kosi River. Your first few days are spent in preparation for the many exciting and challenging rapids ahead. The first really big grade IV rapids go under such names as Meat Grinder, High Anxiety and Harkapur II and test your recently acquired skills to the fullest. Along the route you take timeout, on the many inviting sandy white beaches, to relax in the sun, play games and party in the evenings. Inevitable, though, you always return to the water for new adventures and fresh
challenges, none more so than the infamous Jungle Corridor. A section of rapids cutting through a jungle filled rock canyon, the Jungle Corridor provides an adrenaline pumping, white-knuckle ride that you will never forget. One final surprise in the shape of the aptly named Big Dipper, and then it’s a quiet cruise down to your take out point and a drive back to Kathmandu.
We leave the final day free for you to do any last minute sightseeing or perhaps buy a gift, before you bid farewell to Nepal and head home.
Your tour ends the following morning with a transfer back to the airport.
