You can also use this tour as a base for a tailor-made itinerary. For example, we could add on more time exploring the Kathmandu Valley or relaxing in Pokhara, or a visit to Bardia National Park for some more safari activities and a search for the elusive Bengal Tiger. We can also add a range of different treks, or another exciting white water trip to the end of the tour, this time on the steep and demanding Bhote Khosi river. Additional information

  • Monsoon Season - We do not generally run this tour during the monsoon season, as the while the water is fast and high for the rafting, accessing Chitwan National Park is problematic and there is a high risk of landslides causing long delays to the overland journeys.
  • Good Trekking - Late September to November are the best and most popular time for visiting Nepal, with good visibility and fine weather. The rafting is good with high (but cold) water levels at the start of the season. Wildlife viewing is good in Chitwan, though the elephant grass gets longer as the season progresses, reducing the possibility to see some species.
  • Winter Season - We don't run many departures on this tour during the winter months of December to February as the weather is cold for the rafting section. Wildlife viewing is good, and the lower number of tourists in the country in general provides a good experience.
  • Good Viewing - Late February to May is an ideal time to do this tour, as the weather is good and the water is warmer for the rafting though the river levels are lower. Visibility is good, and the elephant grass is cut in Chitwan National park during this season which gives better wildlife viewing opportunities. It does get hot towards the end of the season, so March & April are ideal months.
