Remote villages and pilgrim paths, monasteries and palaces; all set against a backdrop of high Himalayan mountains, passes and wide open plains - ‘Overland to Lhasa’ is an unforgettable journey through one of the most interesting and unique regions on earth.
Sandwiched between a little time in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, this tour features 8 days in Bhutan for a fairly comprehensive tour at a relaxed pace. Highlights include the Paro Dzong and National Museum, a wide range of sites in and around the capital Thimphu, and a beautiful drive across the Dochu La Pass into the Punakha Valley to see the sites there. You also enjoy a spectacular walk up to Taktshang (Tiger's Nest) monastery.
This tour covers Nepal's wildlife, history & people, without any strenuous physical activities. We explore the major sites in the Kathmandu Valley, enjoy safari activities in Chitwan National Park, visit the birth-place of the Buddha in Lumbini, do some day walks around Pokhara, and visit the ancient trading hill-town of Bandipur.
